**If you plan on enrolling your child in Kindergarten at Wheatland this Fall, please email nieldc@usd385.org or call us at 316-218-4820 so we can get you on the email list. It is anticipated that the online enrollment forms will become available at the beginning of March. Please check the district website (www.usd385.org) for more information.**

The Kindergarten Round-Up Parent Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:30pm in the Wheatland gym, located at 15200 E 21st St in Wichita. The purpose of this meeting is to distribute information to parents and to collect required paperwork from you. This is an informational meeting for parents, therefore we recommend that you not bring your child as child care will not be provided. Parents are encouraged to attend the Round-Up if they are considering enrolling their child in kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year. Kindergarten classrooms will be open for you to visit after the meeting if you would like to see them. The parent night should not last more than an hour. Andover Public Schools offers an All-Day Kindergarten program. As of the 2017-18 school year, it is no longer fee-based. There will be only one Half-Day Kindergarten session offered, and it is anticipated to be held at Sunflower Elementary, not Wheatland.

To be eligible to attend school this Fall, your child must be five years old on or before August 31, 2018, and live in the USD #385 school district in the Wheatland boundaries.

Please bring the following with you to the meeting (it would be helpful if you could bring copies; if you are unable, we can make copies for you):

  • A copy of your child's state certified birth certificate. Hospital birth certificates are not acceptable. Please contact the Vital Statistics department of the state where your child was born if you need to obtain a birth certificate.
  • Proof of Residency that you live within the Andover School District. The following are required: (1) Homeowner Contract or Lease Agreement; and (2) a current Utility Bill. Even if you currently have a student enrolled at Wheatland, we will still need your current proof of residency.
  • A copy of your child's most current immunization records
  • Health Examination Report (may be submitted prior to the first day of school)

Again, please understand that the Round-Up will be an informational meeting so we ask that you not bring your child. Your future kindergarten student will be invited to visit a kindergarten classroom on Friday, May 4th. The Kindergarten Visitation Day will provide your child with experience in an actual classroom setting and additional information about this visitation will be e-mailed at a later date.

We look forward to seeing you at the Round-Up! If you have any questions, please email Claire at nieldc@usd385.org or call us at 316-218-4820. Thank you!
