I am a proud native Texan who graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I also have a Master's in Education from Baker University, and an ESOL certification from Newman University. My husband, John, is a Vice President at AGH in Wichita. After teaching in Texas for 13 years, we moved to Kansas where we were doubly blessed with the additon of our boy/girl twins who joined their two older sisters. Those two oldest are now mommies to my beautiful grandchildren, Landon and Paisley. After the twins were in school full time I returned to the classroom. This is my eighth year to teach in Kansas. I am thrilled to be part of such an outstanding school district!
I love Jesus, my family, reading, cooking, going out to eat, watching movies, Texas Tech University, diet Coke, the color green, Grey's Anatomy, and sleeping in late, just to name a few. I believe that every child can learn given the right set of circumstances and my goal is to find what works for each child in my classroom to ensure a very successful first grade year. Parent/teacher communication is crucial to that success so I encourage you to contact me with any concerns or questions. The best time to reach me by phone is either before or after school, or during my plan time from 1:10-1:55. You can also email or send a handwritten note in your child's notebook. When we work as a team we all win!
