Hello! My name is Melanie Hutchinson. I'm excited to begin my 14th year of teaching. I'm currently teaching ELL at Wheatland Elementary and Meadowlark Elementary. I've taught 3rd grade, 1st grade, and Library Media. I grew up western Kansas and I come from a family of educators.

I'm married to Brett, who is a computer analyst for Sedgwick County. We are the proud parents of Tate 9, Drew 6, and Malia 3. We spend our weekends in gyms, or on fields doing sports all year long. I'm also a huge KU Jayhawks fan!

I love my job! My favorite part is working with kids of all ages and seeing them develop over the years. I have a passion for creating relationships with my students and making connections to help them learn. I love setting goals and working as a team to reach them together. I love incorporating books, technology, and hands on activities to make learning fun.
