Welcome to Wheatland Elementary School!  We have a busy year of learning ahead of us in Kindergarten.  Your child is beginning his or her academic experience in an awesome school district with the most up-to-date curriculum and classrooms with some of the newest innovations in educational technology. 

                I can’t wait to get to know your child and your family.  Let me tell you a little about me.  I graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, and from the University of Oklahoma with my Masters of Education in Instructional Leadership and Curriculum.  I first worked as a substitute teacher in Andover for two years, the following year I worked in the reading lab, and this is my seventh year as a kindergarten teacher here at Wheatland.  I also worked as a Special Programs Coordinator/Curriculum Specialist in Edwardsville, Illinois and before that I worked as a preschool teacher and 5^th grade teacher in Madison, Illinois.  I’m looking forward to another great year in kindergarten.  I have two children, McKenna and Will.  McKenna is enrolled at Wichita State University majoring in social work.  Will is at Michigan State University majoring in engineering.  My husband, Kevin, retired from the Air Force  (active duty) in 2012 and is working with the Reserves as the Ops Group Commander.  We’ve lived in Andover since 2009, and absolutely love this community and its dedication to education.  I believe that it’s my job to help you develop a life-long learner and a good, caring, considerate, citizen in your child.  I love learning new things, and I am passionate about teaching.  Communication is a very important part of your child’s education, and I will be available when you have any questions, concerns or just want to pop in to the classroom.
