I have been teaching elementary music at Wheatland since its inception in August 2008 and have been with the Andover Public Schools since August 2001.
Previous teaching assignments in Andover include two years as the fulltime music teacher at Meadowlark (August 2006-May 2008), four years with my assignment split between Meadowlark and Robert M. Martin (August 2002-May 2006), and one year split between Meadowlark and Andover Central Middle School where I taught one section of eighth grade social studies and the sixth grade vocal music classes (August 2001-May 2002).
Prior to moving to Andover, I taught elementary music in the Hutchinson school district at Wiley Elementary for three years.
My most unconventional professional experience involved teaching Adult Literacy and GED for a year at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
Ray Linville, AHS band director, and I were married in 1987.
We have one daughter, Bethany who teaches elementary music in the Topeka Public Schools. She is a 2009 graduate of Andover High School and 2014 graduate of The University of Kansas.
In the time I spend outside of school I:
--go to Planet Fitness where I read for pleasure while I take on the elliptical machine
--spend time with family (including vacationing, movies, concerts, hiking, and sporting events-especially KU
athletics)
--attend concerts
--attend worship at Chapel Hill UMC and lead music for the worship service for Church of the Resurrection
Charismatic Episcopal Church. This offers the opportunity to arrange and compose original music.
