a little bit about me...
Hello! My name is Sara Lentz, and this is my 14th year of teaching. I previously taught 4th grade at Cottonwood for two years, and this is my 12th year teaching 5th grade at Wheatland. All of my teaching experience has been in Andover, including student teaching in 3rd grade at Cottonwood and 6th grade math at Andover Middle School. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Friends University and my Bachelor's degree with a Middle School Math Endorsement from Wichita State University, along with my ESOL certification from Newman University. While I do teach all subjects, my favorite is math! I helped open Wheatland as a brand-new school in the fall of 2008, and I've enjoyed seeing our school grow into what it is today!
Growing up in Phillipsburg (a small town in north-central Kansas) means I’ll always be a small-town girl at heart! My husband Adam & I are blessed with 2 adorable kids—Kingston (11) and Holland (9). Lacey, our sweet 10-year-old-ish Shih Tzu rescue, is my pride & joy! In my spare time, I love to cook, watch movies (especially going to the movies), go shopping, spend time with friends and family, and get the occasional pedicure & massage! When we can make it back home, I love to spend time with my nephews (Trent, Tanner, Ty, Jack, & Kyle!).
Fifth graders are so much fun, and I enjoy getting to know each of their personalities--it sure makes for a fun and interesting classroom! Thank you so much for allowing me to teach your child! I know it will be a GREAT year!
