Current Position:

This is my fourth year with Andover Public Schools and Wheatland Elementary.  I will be teaching 5th grade this year!

Previous Position:

I began my journey in education my senior year in high school as an aide for one hour a day in a 5th grade classroom.  I then went on to college at Kansas State where I worked with a wide range of grade levels from 2nd grade up to 8th grade social studies).  After I graduated from Kansas State, I was a substitute teacher for Salina Public Schools.  After a year of substituting, I started my first year of teaching with Wichita Public Schools as a 5th grade teacher.  I taught 5th grade for 8 years before moving down to teach 4th grade.  I taught 4th grade for 3 years then looped with my students up to 5th grade and stayed in that position for another year after that.  In total, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade throughout my 16 years of teaching experience.

Family Information:

I am a single mom of two wonderful boys ages 14 & 16.  My youngest will be a freshman and my oldest will be a junior in high school this year.   They both attend Derby High School.

Personal Information:

When I’m not in my classroom teaching, I enjoy spending time with my boys or relaxing at home.  I am somewhat of a fitness enthusiast.  I teach group fitness classes at Genesis Health Clubs and am currently training for my first fitness competition in the fall.
