Box Tops for Education
The PTO collects Box Tops for Education, earning $0.10 for each valid Box Top submitted. During the 2018-2019 school year, we raised nearly $2,000 through this program. To see the hundreds of participating products, go to https://www.boxtops4education.
New this year, traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out. The program will rely on scanned receipts using a mobile app. To participate, download the Box Tops for Education app (“BTFE app”) on your smart phone. Create an account and log in; designate Wheatland Elementary in Wichita (zip code 67230) as your school. Use the BTFE app to scan your store receipts within 14 days of purchase and to find bonus offers. Your earnings will be automatically identified and added to our school’s earnings at BFTE.com. If you shop for groceries online (including Target.com, Target Pick-Up/Drive-Up, Walmart Grocery, and Walmart.com), you can submit your email receipts to receipts@boxtops4education.com
You can continue to clip any traditional Box Tops you find on products and send them to school. During the transition period, you can also submit your receipt through the app, doubling your Box Tops on most items.
Students who submit 200 Box Tops during the school year get a pizza party with the principal during school. Typically, there is one pizza party in the fall and one in the spring; students who attend the first party can attend the second if they turn in an additional 200 Box Tops. To get credit toward the pizza party:
- Put traditional Box Tops on a collection sheet (sent home throughout the year or available on the PTO’s webpage) labeled with your student’s name, grade, and teacher, or in a plastic bag with that information on a piece of paper. Drop them off in the collection containers outside the office and east doors. Remember to check the expiration dates; expired Box Tops do not count toward the pizza party. The PTO mails in Box Tops twice a year, in time for November 1 and March 1 deadlines.
- For Box Tops earned in the BTFE app, take a screen shot of your earnings in the “My Earning” tab and email it to WheatlandBoxTops@gmail.com at the end of each month with your student’s name, grade, and teacher to get credit toward the pizza party. Box Tops for Education app points from the summer (beginning May 1) count toward the upcoming school year’s pizza party with the principal.
